CHICAGO鈥 Thursday, November 7th at 10:30am, 快播视频 General Superintendent and CEO Rosa Escare帽o will join 5th Ward Alderman Desmond Yancy to cut the ribbon on the new and improved pickleball and tennis courts at Jackson Park, 6401 S. Stony Island. The completion of this project expands community access to one of the country鈥檚 fastest growing past times.
鈥淧ickleball and tennis are among the most popular recreational sports in Chicago and around the country and residents across the city are clamoring for opportunities to enjoy these sports,鈥 said 快播视频 General Superintendent and CEO, Rosa Escare帽o.鈥 鈥淲e are excited to respond to the growing interest in both sports and build facilities that support healthy living and encourage residents to get out, be active and have fun.鈥
The Jackson Park court improvements are part of Pickleball Mania, a larger, citywide initiative to construct 200 pickleball courts across the city by the end of 2025. The total $330,000 project at Jackson Park includes eight new pickleball courts. The project scope includes repair, resurfacing, and grading improvements to the existing court surfaces; restriping; and a resurfaced ADA accessible pathway to the courts.
The Jackson Park court improvements and Pickleball Mania are funded the Chicago Recovery Program, the federal initiative to invest in equitable, sustainable economic recovery following the pandemic.
