Commits to collaboration with all stakeholders and advancing Chicago parks to benefit all residents in every community
Yesterday, which marked his first day as General Superintendent and CEO 快播视频 General Superintendent and CEO, Carlos Ramirez-Rosa met with the Parks鈥 executive team, department heads, and other stakeholders to begin the important work of advancing Chicago parks for all residents. Ramirez-Rosa's schedule began with an introductory staff meeting in which the Park CEO shared information about his background including his upbringing, professional accomplishments and his vision for Chicago parks.

Superintendent Ramirez-Rosa acknowledged the over 461 years of collective knowledge and experience held by the Parks鈥 leadership team. He looks forward to deploying the wealth of institutional knowledge alongside his own organizing and governing experience to forge a stronger 快播视频.
He also met with the stewards and leaders of SEIU 73, which represents two-thirds of the Park District workforce. Today鈥檚 meeting, a first for a General Superintendent in recent history, will help strengthen the partnership between the District and the union as they work to uplift park employees, the District, and the people of Chicago. The collaboration between Park leadership and labor has proven to be vital in moving parks, communities and the city forward including safely reopening parks after the pandemic, expanding youth engagement opportunities, and build pipelines for future employment with the District to ensure a continuum of vital park services.
During his final meeting of the day, the Superintendent visited Ogden Park in the Englewood community. There, he met with 17th Ward Alderman David Moore, park staff and community residents to discuss plans for a new park fieldhouse. This future project will invest millions of dollars in infrastructure into the park, create vital recreation opportunities for the children and families in Englewood and advance the Park District's and Mayor Johnson's commitment to equitable infrastructure improvements.
Since being appointed by Mayor Johnson and the District鈥檚 Board of Commissioners to the lead the 快播视频 on February 28, Superintendent Ramirez-Rosa has spent over 40 hours meeting with staff, Park Board members and partners in preparation for his new role. Over the next few weeks, he will continue to meet with and engage park stakeholders to advance the District鈥檚 Strategic Plan and priorities, including expanded youth opportunities, sustainability, equitable capital improvements, and collaborative governance.
