Description
Auburn Park Natural Area is 2.5 acres of lagoon habitat in the Auburn Gresham community. This popular fishing lagoon is a remnant from the site's early history as a wetland which eventually drained seven miles southeast into the Calumet River. The lagoon is spread across three blocks connected by stone bridges and a paved walking path. Two islands are located at the center of the lagoon, landscaped with a mix of ornamental and native trees, shrubs and grasses. Fishing line disposal bins are located at the west and east ends of the lagoon.
