Description
The perimeter of La Villita park is planted with four acres of native wildflowers, grasses, and sedges. Look for the purple blooms of wild bergamot (Monarda fistulosa), yellow shuttlecock-shaped flowers of grey-headed coneflower (Ratibida pinnata), or spot the spiky pods of common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca). Interpretive signage about urban nature can be found along the paved paths that circle the park.
