Description
Located outside of the Kovler Sea Lion Pool, these life-sized Seal and Sea Lion bas-relief sculptures are intended as a teaching tool. Produced by sculptor Dino C. Crisanti, the artworks offer visitors the opportunity to explore the differences and similarities between seals and sea lions by seeing and touching.
In addition to the Seal and Sea Lion, Crisanti has created educational animal sculptures for the Orangutan Research Station at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle, Washington and the Kohl Children鈥檚 Museum in Glenview, Illinois. Crisanti graduated in 1985 from Columbia College with a degree in film animation. Along with producing sculptures related to animals and other wildlife, he teaches stop motion animation at Columbia College, invents toys, and creates one-of-a-kind dolls.
